Dr. Judy Bartlett

Judith G. Bartlett MD, MSc, CCFP, FCFP is a Metis physician, researcher and health administrator. She graduated from Medicine in 1987 and completed Family Medicine training in 1989. Current employment positions include: Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba - active research program; Director, Health and Wellness Department, Manitoba Metis Federation - building policy-research department; and Family Physician, Aboriginal Health and Wellness Centre of Winnipeg - providing clinical services. Dr. Bartlett is co-owner and CEO of a successful aerospace manufacturing and distribution company. After focusing for a decade in First Nations health, she now works mostly in Metis health and wellness. Current and past board and committee roles include Manitoba Health Research Council (2007-10); Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada (board member 2006-09); National Aboriginal Health Organization (chair 2000-04, board member 2006-09, chair MCGC 2007); Institute on Aboriginal Peoples Health (advisory board member 2001-06); United Way of Winnipeg (chair 2002-03, board member 1998-2004); Canadian Health Network (advisory board 2002-05); and Aboriginal Health and Wellness Centre of Winnipeg (co-chair 1993-2002). Dr. Bartlett was honored as the 2003 National Aboriginal Achievement Award recipient for Health.
