Lana Potts
Piikani Nation
M.D. Candidate, Class of 2009,
Northern Ontario School of Medicine
Lana Potts is Blackfoot from the Piikani Nation. A charter class member of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, she is a pioneer in her community as the first female to pursue a career in medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree in nursing and decided to take the road to medicine to work towards a positive future for First Nation’s Health. Lana is involved in a number of projects to recruit First Nation’s youth into health careers and was apart of the first Mini Medical School in Northern Ontario.
